TRAVEL ALERT: you may have heard news of a wildfire near the Yosemite gateway town of Mariposa that closed Highway 140 access to Yosemite.

As of July 24th we have confirmed that Highway 140 to Yosemite has re-opened and the town of Mariposa is open for business as usual.

Since Rush Creek Lodge is located near the Highway 120 west entrance to Yosemite, the temporary closure at Highway 140 did not affect travel to the lodge or access between the lodge and Yosemite Valley in any way.

News of the fire has caused a significant increase in our call volume, so you may want to email us at for a more convenient response to any questions you may currently have.

If you’re curious about visibility or air quality, we recommend you visit our friends at the Yosemite Conservancy for a look at their live webcams showing iconic locations throughout Yosemite National Park: https://www.yosemiteconservancy.org/webcams

We’ll continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

Happy trails!
