Our Winemaker Weekends top off your Yosemite adventures with evenings that are filled with amazing food paired with exquisite wines and the good company of some of Napa’s most cherished winemakers.

We’re fortunate to get to work with winemakers who not only make good juice but who also have good hearts and share our core values of social and environmental responsibility.

Explore Yosemite by day then join some of Napa’s most accomplished and gracious winemakers to enjoy their artfully crafted wines and feast on some fabulous dishes.  Our very own Chef Tony Lemens works closely with each weekend’s featured winemaker to prepare delicious food that pairs beautifully with the selected wines, complementing and never competing with the flavors of the wine.

Winemaker Weekend Packages include:
  • Two nights lodging in a deluxe Lodge King room at Rush Creek (upgrades available)
  • Friday 5:30 pm-7: 30 pm welcome reception with the winemaker, featuring three wines selected by the winemaker, paired with freshly prepared hors d ‘oeuvres designed by Chef Tony Lemens to showcase the wines’ flavor profiles (see a sample tasting menu)
  • Saturday and Sunday full-service breakfast in Rush Creek’s Restaurant (check out our Breakfast menu)
  • Saturday night 6 pm-9: 30 pm dinner with the winemaker, featuring four of the winemaker’s favorite vintages, paired with a custom menu crafted by Chef Lemens to compliment the wines beautifully (see a sample dinner menu)

Among other things, Elizabeth is well-known and respected for her Stags Leap District estate-grown wines from Chimney Rock’s green-certified Napa Valley winery.

You’ll get to find out straight from the source at this Winter Winemaker Weekend featuring the lovely and talented Elizabeth Vianna.

A native of Brazil, Elizabeth’s warm smile, love of music, and desire to “surprise and delight” the people she cares about shines through in every glass of carefully crafted estate wine.

True to form, Elizabeth has decided to “surprise and delight” us with some newly released wine that is not yet available to the general public, plus some of her most spectacular vintages of classic reds one can only find from the exceptional combination of conditions that exist in the Stag’s Leap region of Napa Valley.  Yum.

The Rush Creek Culinary Team is poised to outdo themselves again this year, putting big flavors into small bites perfectly paired with Elizabeth’s wine selections for Friday night’s Welcome Reception tasting menu—the ideal way to keep conversation (and wine) flowing as we kick off our Yosemite wine weekend.

About Chimney Rock

The story of Chimney Rock is entwined with the story of Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, home to some of the most elegant Cabernet Sauvignon produced on American soil. The winery’s beginnings hark back to the original owners’ love of Bordeaux. 

Originally a golf course, in the early 1980s, the land, which sits on the fabled Silverado Trail, began its transformation to exquisite vineyards. Inspired by the chiseled rock formations on the nearby eastern hillsides, the property was named Chimney Rock.

The winery produced its first estate vintage in 1989. That same year, the first winery building, with its massive allegorical frieze of Ganymede, cupbearer to the gods, was completed. The Terlato family purchased Chimney Rock from its original owners in 2000, with a commitment to producing the most exceptional wines in Stags Leap District in small quantities.  Today, Chimney Rock is home to more than 100 acres of prized Stags Leap vineyards, planted primarily in Cabernet Sauvignon, but also including Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

We love Alison’s world view on multicultural winemaking that springs from her extensive global travels and work experience. Early on in her career she worked with an international wine company that posted her to business assignments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  Realizing winemaking was her true calling she then went on to winemaking stints in Italy and Germany before landing in Sonoma and now Napa.
