When you arrive you’ll receive an updated schedule of all the week’s activities. Here are some of the ideas we’re currently finalizing.
MAKING THE MOST OF THE HOLIDAY
Each day we offer an array of guided recreation trips tailored to the holiday season, including naturalist hikes, snowshoe trips to the Giant Sequoias and sightseeing tours of Yosemite Valley perfect for celebrating the Christmas Holiday. Our expert massage therapist will be waiting to indulge you after your day’s activities (reservations required) – or you can always just skip the activities and go right to the massage!
Each night our restaurant will serve our classic menu along with memorable holiday specials. In the tavern, eggnog and hot specialty drinks will be flowing, in addition to a broad assortment of wines, beer and spirits.
After dinner, we will offer a variety of nightly activities, including campfires, arts & crafts, bingo and guest speakers. And of course you’ll always have the wonderful options of reading or playing board games by the fireside, relaxing in our tavern or stargazing from your private deck.

Thursday, DECEMBER 21ST
On Thursday evening, we’ll kick off the holiday festivities. Head to our Recreation Center and help us decorate by making “Giant Snowflake Decorations”. Then as the night starts to wind down sneak in a quick visit to our beautiful hot tubs. Afterwards, relaxed and refreshed, enjoy a delicious dinner and join us for fireside s’mores under the stars. Or drop by the Tavern for a few shared plates and specialty winter warmer cocktails.
Friday, DECEMBER 22ND
Enjoy an active day in Yosemite on one of our guided naturalist adventures, or explore our spectacular backyard, Yosemite National Park on your own with pointers from our informative Recreation team.
After a day of Yosemite adventures come back and start a friendly fireside board game competition in our cozy Guest Lounge. Or join our Recreation Team in creating your everyone winter wonderland you get to take home with you, in our “Build Your Own Snow Globe” craft. Then join us fireside for our nightly campfire classic — S’mores!
Saturday, DECEMBER 23RD
Now as the festivities are rolling we’re making sure we are ready for Santa. Be sure to write to Santa with our Recreation Team in their “Letters to Santa” activity to make sure Santa knows if you’ve been naughty or nice this year.
Then join us for another fun and festive takeaway as we start decorating “Wood Cookie Ornaments” for our Christmas Trees and for your loved one’s Christmas Tree. Later in the evening be fireside again, so make sure you join us for another night of s’mores at our outdoor fire pit.
Our celebration continues in true Christmas spirit throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
In the morning, start off with a gentle, but invigorating Vinyassa Flow Yoga class. Then grab the family and explore our pristine wilderness. Take a morning hike or snowshoe to the Giant Sequoias with one of our naturalist guides. Learn more of the history, folklore and fauna of Yosemite, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of our postcard perfect scenery. The options are endless.
Return for an afternoon of hot cocoa, cider and our “S’mores House” craft– our mountain spin on the traditional Gingerbread House. And of course be sure to decorate your stockings, and then head off to put finishing touches on treats for Santa Claus.
But the festivities don’t stop there! Don your favorite Christmas sweater and join the Ugly Sweater Party in the Tavern!

After your dinner (or before if you’d like!), pull out your favorite holiday sweater and join the party in the Tavern. Enjoy a festive celebration complete with prizes for the ugliest sweater.
Savor the serenity of winter in the woods by starting your Christmas day lazing around your cabin or sneaking in an early walk, then…
Christmas Morning in Our Living Room
Bring the whole gang over to the Guest Lounge to open gifts around the blazing fireplace. Relax on a couch and make yourself at home. Be sure to check the kids’ stockings for special treats left behind by Santa.
Visit From Santa!
After his long night of work, Santa will be headed to the Rush Creek for some relaxation! Come by the Guest Lounge to have your picture taken next to the Christmas tree with Santa!
After opening gifts, bring your appetite, as Chef Lemens will be serving a special Christmas breakfast. Afterwards, hit the road and explore beautiful Yosemite Valley – our guides will gladly take you on an outing or help you plan one of your own. Or join in as our General Manager takes our first Annual Ho-Ho-Ho-Hike around property to walk off some of that hearty Christmas Breakfast.
Or just relax and enjoy the afternoon at the lodge, where we’ll have endless family activities to round out the day.

Gather around our outdoor fireplace to roast a special holiday spin on the campfire classic s’mores and create a new holiday tradition for you and your family.
Join us for more holiday cheer in the tavern. Recently opened, our modern mountain retreat inspired tavern has a down home feel, the friendliest staff around and the tastiest of libations.
TuesdAY, DECEMBER 26TH
Head over to the restaurant for a delicious hot breakfast. Grab lunch to go and hit the trail on another idyllic day exploring Yosemite with family and friends. Join an interpretive hike, snowshoe (weather permitting) to see the world’s largest living specimens – Giant Sequoias, or take a sightseeing tour of Yosemite Valley. Pick out the perfect guided recreation trip for you and your loved ones this holiday season here.
Or just sleep in and relax around the lodge after the Christmas festivities. Savor a rare carefree day however you choose: indulge in a full-body massage (advance reservation required), rejuvenate in the hot tub, read a book, play games, walk the nature trail… If you get motivated, join us for a bit more local area exploration on a late-afternoon Sierra Sunset Hike.
However, you spent your day, come join us for a well-earned break while the kids head off to Game Room for a snow paint craft! After dinner, join the kids for s’mores by our outdoor Fire Pit.
