Watch the full feature below and read on to discover the adventurous, relaxing, and purposeful spirit of Rush Creek Lodge and Spa.
Inviting Lodging in Yosemite Valley
The segment opens by showing sweeping views of the lodge, grounds, and Yosemite. Co-owner Lee Zimmerman introduces our hotel near the Big Oak Flat entrance and explains the care and attention that went into creating this incredible destination. “We took all the lessons of our 15 years [at Evergreen] and brought them over to Rush Creek. We spent about two years designing and about two years building it, and now you have here what you see today.”
The warm, welcoming feel pervades the lodge’s cozy rooms, gathering spaces, and family-friendly amenities.
Adventures Inside the Park and Out
The next segment of the NBC episode features highlights of Yosemite on and off our grounds, from moments of pure relaxation in our nature-inspired spa to guided park hikes and private tours. Zimmerman describes Rush Creek as a “destination within a destination,” and for good reason. You’ll find much more than lodging in Yosemite here, thanks to our incredible amenities. The video shows our expansive pool deck, zipline, and spa, but those are only the beginning.
Zimmerman also describes the ease of exploring off-site with Rush Creek’s guided excursions and tours: “Our Rec Desk experts can provide insights to help people get off the beaten path and have amazing adventures on their own in the park.”
Watch the segment to see the best of Yosemite’s views, from majestic waterfalls to gorgeous, groomed trails and winter’s snow-covered terrain — all within easy reach of our lodge.
Dining at Yosemite’s Table
The episode also teases Rush Creek’s dining options. Whether you’re looking for signature dishes at the restaurant, hearty tavern-style meals, or treats served poolside, our culinary team won’t disappoint. “We pride ourselves in offering San Francisco Bay Area–quality cuisine…” Zimmerman says, and the food featured on the episode shows just how delicious that farm-fresh cooking is.
Save room for dessert! “S’mores are one of the greatest givers of joy here at the Lodge,” says Zimmerman of the nightly tradition. Adults, kids, and kids at heart love gathering at the resort’s firepits for treats and entertainment.
Rush Creek’s Signature Sustainability and Purpose
In an especially meaningful moment of the “California Live” feature, Lee shares how sustainability and social impact are woven into Rush Creek’s operations. He speaks of the youth employment program, which helps more than 50 young people each year become self-sufficient, aspiring young adults.
“We take pride in our water conservation efforts here at Rush Creek,” Zimmerman explained: “We also operate the largest commercial graywater system for hospitality in the state, reusing the vast majority of the water our guests use each day.”
These commitments ensure that every stay supports the environment and the community of future adventurers coming to experience the highlights of Yosemite’s landmarks and adventures.
